Gowns like the one featured above definitely made a statement on the runway this year. These elegant, yet futuristic gowns are the new “it gowns” for the upcoming year. The gown above has a simple neckline, however it also has a not-so-simple 3-D shoulder design that we’re all crazy about. What more could you want?

The Princess Overlay Gown

When we used the saying “princess dress” we were all referring to the big white ball gown that every little girl used to dream of wearing. However, times have changed and so has fashion. This princess gown shown above has an overlay of diamonds. The sheer overlay makes this dress elegant yet sexy for those who are looking for a draw dropping gown.

The Feathered Gown

This Vera Wang two-piece gown is one that will leave everyone in shock…and make it look like you just walked out of an editorial shoot!

Floral Prints

7 Awesome Ways to Surprise Her For Her Birthday

Screen Shot 2015-11-10 at 6.35.35 PMIf you are one of those men who love to surprise their significant other, you have made it to the perfect page. There are a million ways to plan a great birthday surprise, but you do need to find one that fits your budget, time, and interests. Don’t panic, we have listed a few great ways you can leave your loved one shocked below. By the end of this, you should have a few ideas of your own.

1) Weekend Getaway

Tell your sweetie to pack her bags! Everyone loves to hear those words, right? Tell her you have a surprise and ask her if she can take a day or two off. Plan a weekend getaway to somewhere nearby, or far, depending on your schedules. Call the hotel in advance and tell them you are celebrating your lover’s birthday and ask if they can setup the room with roses and a bottle of champagne. Just the effort will be enough to have your woman in tears.

2) Surprise Birthday

Whether it is at your house or a restaurant, gather your sweetie’s best pals and family member to surprise her on her special day. If you are doing it at a restaurant, have her friends or family decorate the area you guys will be sitting. Also, don’t forget the cake!

3) Meaningful Gift

Surprise her with a meaningful gift. It could be anything from jewelry that she can keep forever (and pass down to her kids), to a hand made scrap book filled with pictures of you two. The more personalized, the more special. Look into personalizing the jewelry as well.

4) Shopping Spree

We know, she already ALWAYS goes shopping, but that does’t matter. Women love shopping no matter for what and when. Take her to a mall or shopping center that has several stores and tell her she can pick whatever she wants! Be careful, she might faint.

5) Proposal

If you’re at that point in your life where you are ready to get hitched, this might be the perfect time. What better surprise can you give her? Take her out for her birthday and at the end, pop the question. She will be in awe!

6) Get Adventurous

If your woman loves to do outdoor activities, plan something spontaneous and extreme (only if you know she will agree). We’re sure you have heard her talk about something that she has been meaning to do.

7) Fly Em’ In

Does your sweetie have family that she has been meaning to visit out of town or state? If so, fly them in to celebrate her special day. This is a meaningful surprise because it shows how much you care about her relationships with her love ones. Great idea, huh?

Amazing Wedding Hacks You Need to Know About

Screen Shot 2015-11-06 at 2.42.37 PM

You’re in the midst of planning the perfect day when you keep running into common decor problems that prevent you from fully committing to a location. You may love the venue, but hate the chairs. The place is the perfect size, but the wallpaper is hideous. We know, we’ve all experienced this at least once in our lives. Don’t panic, we have some clever solutions that will make your planning much easier.

The Chairs

Screen Shot 2015-11-06 at 2.54.33 PM

If the chairs don’t tickle your fancy, there is an easy solution. There are many wedding rental businesses where you are able to rent anything from chairs, tables, plates, forks, and much more. Check out a few local businesses to see if your budget fits. Also, you can get creative. If you have time on your hands and have a specific picture in your mind, you can always make your own chair cover, like the one above. Those always turn out wonderful!

The Flooring

Screen Shot 2015-11-06 at 3.00.06 PM

If the floor is your issue, there are several ways you can take attention away from it, cover it, or add to it. If the floor is too dull and simple, you can add projections to it, like the photo above. If the venue is perfect but the carpet is not your taste, you can roll a carpet over it. Keep in mind, once you put out a dance floor and decorate the setting, it will take the attention away from the floor.

The Wallpaper

Screen Shot 2015-11-06 at 3.06.50 PM

While you can’t exactly redecorate, you can shift the focus. You can add projections or moving images to the walls. A great way to cover up the wallpaper is to add drapes to the walls, like the photo above.

Venue is Too Big

Screen Shot 2015-11-06 at 3.13.19 PM

Space is usually a plus, but if you’re looking for a more cozy and intimate atmosphere, you can add different areas, such as a lounging spot or a sweets bar. Use furniture, flooring and fabric draping to define spaces throughout the venue.

How to Get the Perfect Wedding Pictures

Screen Shot 2015-11-06 at 2.15.39 PM

We’ve all heard the saying “a picture is worth a thousand words.” One of the most important factors of your wedding is the photography. The pictures and your memory are what’s left behind after the big day is over. Think about it, your album will most likely be looked at by generations to come. You want to make sure your photos turn out as beautiful as they can. Therefore, it is important to spend time on choosing the right photographer and ensuring that your vision is captured. Below are a few tricks and tips you might want to take into consideration when choosing your wedding photographer.

Start Sooner Than You Normally Would

Many couples get so caught up in wedding planning, they forget how important the photographer is. About a year before your wedding date, start looking into photographer’s portfolios. If you like the work, ask to see the entire work he has done for a particular couple. It is important to start early so you have enough time to choose between many different styles of photography.  Wedding photographers have very busy schedules, especially if their work is great. Be sure you have enough time to book them.  Don’t wait until the last minute!

Pay Attention to Detail

While going through wedding photos, be attentive to the moments captured and how authentic they look. You definitely don’t want the pictures to look staged. The more natural, the better! Also, watch out for the quality of the pictures. They should be as clear as possible and focused on the right things.

Meet With the Photographers

After choosing a few photographers that may interest you, set up appointments to meet with them. It is important to meet the photographer in person to see if you guys click! No one wants to spend an entire day with someone who is not easy to get along with, or is not professional…especially, on your wedding day! Also, it important to see more of their work (since everything is not posted online). While you’re doing this, tell them what your budget is and see if they are willing to work with you.

Compare

Ask about what’s included in the standard package, plus any additional fees. In particular, find out how many hours of shooting are included. Some photographers don’t make this as clear as they should. This is an important day, so you want to make sure he/she is there the entire time.

Share Your Vision

Most of the time, the photographer will ask you what your vision is. If not, share your vision and ideas with him/her. Make sure your ideas fit within your budget and time. It’s important to remain realistic. If the photographer can make it all come true, it’s time to take the next step!

Give Them Your Autograph

Once you have your mind set, it is time to sign a contract. Make sure all the details and information are included in the contract, such as the date of the wedding, the price, and how you will receive the final product.

Time to Pose

When the day comes, be calm and have fun! Don’t worry about getting the “perfect” shots, just enjoy the moment and the photographer will work his/her talent. When you’re walking down the isle, make sure to look up!
