Now Trending: The Slip Dress 

Leave it to 2016 to transform the slip dress into, well, something other than a slip dress. Many of us have considered wearing a slip dress for a night out, but we always doubted it, right? Designers this year have completely revolutionized the classic slip dress and we are oh so excited about it! Recently we’ve seen more of this trendy look on the runway, on celebrities, and in stores and not just as a slip to wear under a dress or to bed. The slip dress at DKNY Fall/Winter 2016-2017

The slip dress we saw at the runways of DKNY, were anything, but typical.  This dress became reinvented with intricate cuts creating geometric designs and a few inches added to the hemline for extra drama.   The edginess of this slip dress requires classic accessories to create a perfect balance.  Go with a pair of classic diamond stud earrings and a diamond pendant, such as the ones pictured above from Diamondstuds.com.

The leather slip dress at Alexander Wang Fall/Winter 2016-2017

Another reinvention of the slip dress, Alexander Wang nailed it with his choice of fabric.  Straying away from silk and switching it up to leather, this outfit is perfect for a rockstar kind of night.  Adding a pop of color to this all black look is the direction we’re going in.  These blue diamond studs are the perfect shade to still stay punk rock.  The black halo diamond pendant adds subtle bling without taking away from the drama of the dress.

Okay, we’re completely gushing over this slip dress. Although this dress is from his Fall/Winter collection we believe it could easily be worn in spring. When we think of a spring dress, we think less sultry and more girly (florals, bright colors, etc.) However, from the color to the cut, Narcisso managed to make a dress perfect for spring while still keeping it sexy.  This look is perfect for day or night.  Stay in trend with rose gold accents like these diamond halo rose gold stud earrings and princess cut diamond pendant.
